LCMS Synod Convention Volunteer Opportunities

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Epiphany greetings in Jesus, the Light of the world!

Under the theme of “Let Jesus be seen in 2019,” we have a very unique, once in a lifetime opportunity this year. The 67th National Convention of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod will be held in Tampa, FL, July 20-25, under the theme “JoyFully Lutheran”. This is the first time in my recollection that a National Synod Convention has been held in the Florida-Georgia District. It is quite a privilege and an honor, and we certainly want to be a welcoming and accommodating District for this event!

The organizers from the LCMS are looking for individuals who may have time and availability to volunteer for the convention. You will find a sign up with descriptions of needs through the link below. Our local coordinator working with the Synod office is Mrs. Elizabeth Pfeffer, and she will be happy to answer any questions you may have regarding the roles and needs during the convention.  Liz’s contact information is below.

Please understand that while the Synod will provide lunch for full-time volunteers on the day they serve, they do not reimburse any additional expenses such as travel, parking, hotel or other meals. Should you desire to volunteer, realize that it is an act of sacrificial love and service.

This is really a unique experience to see our Synod at work, and provide service to the hundreds of people who will be part of this meeting. If you are interested, please contact Mrs. Pfeffer or click on the link below.

Thanks in advance to those of you who can answer this call to serve the LCMS Convention and through it give a positive witness for Jesus!

Rev. Dr. Greg Walton, President
